Opening new exhibition at RADIUS: TENDING LOSS—MOURNING BEYOND THE HUMAN
In 2026, RADIUS presents the year-programme YOU AND I ARE EARTH — TOWARDS AN EARTHLY POLITICS, exploring how human, non-human, and more-than-human life are entangled within the ‘critical zone’: the thin, vulnerable layer where soil, water, air, and living beings continuously shape one another. As a part of this year-programme, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the opening of the new exhibition TENDING LOSS—MOURNING BEYOND THE HUMAN, open to the public from 17 October 2026 until 24 January 2027.
The group exhibition TENDING LOSS—MOURNING BEYOND THE HUMAN, guest curated by Stef Craps presents work by Allora & Calzadilla with Ted Chiang, Brandon Ballengée, Dominic Boyer, Cymene Howe, and Andri Snær Magnason, Marcus Coates, Marjolijn Dijkman, Raphaël Fischer-Dieskau, Eline Kersten, Katie Paterson, Maarten Vanden Eynde, Cecilia Vicuña, and Sara Vrugt. The exhibition explores the emotional and existential dimensions of ecological disruption. Through installations, sound, film, and performative practices, a space is created in which these often unspoken emotions can be acknowledged and shared. Simultaneously, the exhibition explores new rituals, languages, and collective imaginaries to deal with this loss, not only human, but also multispecies. TENDING LOSS shows that grief need not simply mean paralysis, but can develop into a source of care, solidarity and resistance, and into a renewed connection with an Earth that changes but never ceases to speak.
We hope to welcome you during the public opening reception on Saturday 17 October from 16:00 to 19:00. Tickets for this convivial exhibition opening can be reserved via the button in the top right corner.
