DELFT CLIMATE WEEK

Book Tickets

From 2 till 8 November 2026, RADIUS is a part of the Delftse Klimaatweek. This is a week in which inhabitants, entrepreneurs, institutions and civil organisations show how they work together to make Delft more sustainable. During the week you can visit the current exhibition TENDING LOSS — MOURNING BEYOND THE HUMAN and follow the SCHADUWSOORTEN workshop at RADIUS.

TENDING LOSS — MOURNING BEYOND THE HUMAN is a group exhibition about loss and grief resulting from changes in nature and the climate. What do we feel when landscapes, plants, and animals disappear or change?

SCHADUWSOORTEN takes (almost) extinct species as its starting point, viewing them as traces of a world that no longer exists. Pick one of the large shadow puppets, and move through the exhibition space to temporarily revive these extinct animals and as such make their absence felt. The project dives into the ways we relate to forms of loss that cannot be undone. An extinct species is not only a reminder of what has been lost, but also a witness of the relationships, desires and power dynamics that have shaped our world. SCHADUWSOORTEN creates space to stay with the loss, without immediately translating it into a solution or a promise of hope. The loss is given a place as part of the world in which we live: as an absence, as a memory and as an awareness of what once was. In this way, loss does not become something we must rid ourselves of, but something we are learning to relate to anew.
