GLASS LAND by Joris van den Einden

On the 20th of August, Joris van den Einden will present his recent work GLASS LAND at RADIUS, as a part of the closing events for the current exhibition THE GLASS CITY.

GLASS LAND is a visual research project which revolves around the Westland. Combining both archival images and contemporary photographs, the project studies the Westland’s transformation from a rural, fragmented, but lively region into a collective municipality, its morphology bound together by an industrial aesthetic and ethics of greenhouse horticulture. The imagery explores a range of sites and situations that are related to the historical and cultural embeddedness of the greenhouses and the ways in which they mark the region.
